Why should the viscometer be placed vertically when testing viscosity in a constant temperature water bath?

When testing viscosity with a viscometer, the angle is different then the synthetic shear force is also different, and viscometer measurement required to detect the time of liquid flow through the viscometer to vertical, otherwise, its time may be longer than the operation according to the standard.
